Low Intervention (AKA natural) red wines from Bordeaux.

This piece about how a seemingly tiny mistranslation might have spawned a monster (natural wine!) has invited some serious discussion in the comments . . .

Rather huge news, that has been quietly reported in a few organs over the last few weeks: Consorzio Collio has voted to create an orange wine classification as part of DOC Collio.
I took a detailed look and asked main man Saša Radikon for his input.

Nice to see a few more people posting on epicure.social -I guess the eXodus prompted that....
If you enjoy Epicure.Social, please consider making a small donation to our hosting costs. So far five kind people donated, but it would be nice if a few more of the regulars reached into their pockets.
Here is the link, which works with any form of credit or debit card and many other magical payment methods besides (it's Stripe FYI)
Hey everyone, if you'd like to make a small donation towards epicure.social 's hosting and admin costs, I would appreciate it.
Here is a payment link to make a one-time donation. You can choose the amount. I set the minimum at $5, I hope that is OK.
If 10 people all donated $25, that covers one year's hosting and storage costs.

Theoretically I could make alternative links available in other currencies if that is required. Just let me know!
Welcoming 2025 with my Top 10 Budget Natural Wines.
How far do you have to compromise, and how low can you go in terms of price if you still want to drink wine that feels like an honest, authentic beverage?

Latest project! Any cocktail fans or port wine fans out there?
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/theportologist/the-portologist-crafting-port-wine-cocktails
Hey everyone, I'm been busy helping a fellow author get his book out into the world. We're days away from going live on Kickstarter.
Lots more info in this article about me and The Portologist project.
https://www.the-buyer.net/insight/simon-woolf-on-helping-new-authors-self-publish-their-dream-books
Having self published what turned out to be a multi award-winning book on orange wine - Amber Revolution - Simon Woolf had to step through a lot of hoops and work around the publishing system to make it happen. He now wants to pass on that knowledge and experience by helping other authors bring their dream books and projects to life. Here he explains his new self-publishing model and how he is working with Ruud Scholten, a Dutch port wine fan and entrepreneur, to help publish his first book about port wine cocktails - The Portologist - via a crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter that starts next week. Here’s how it works and how you can get involved.
My piece in World of Fine Wine magazine on the future of Fortified WIne is also available online and you can read it for free!
This was based on a discussion panel held last December in Lech, Austria.
I've already been pulled up by one of my subscribers for unduly dissing Commandaria.... will respond properly on my site!
But here is the piece anyway:
