I also get there are alternative ways of contacting those people I might have lost connection with due to a defederation thing. But not everyone uses all the alternatives. Yes, I get this is controversial. But it's an opinion, and opinions don't hurt anyone unless they are being acted upon in a harmful way. So, there's that.
I think the only thing I don't like about Masto is the idea of defederating. I understand why it exists, but for those of us who have relationships with a lot of people from one server, it really kinda sucks. Blocking/muting/not following or boosting are things that I personally implement if I don't like something/someone. I don't want others having the potential to sever connections just because the folks I'm connected with are on a server the admin(s) of the server I'm on don't like.
Honestly, I didn't realize content warnings counted against character limits. That's actually part of my problem. I have 500 characters of stuff to say sometimes (didn't think I'd get to that point either) but then the content warning I'd like to put in those posts won't fit! So that's kind of counterproductive. This new instance feels just a touch more to my liking as well, though I'm not able to explain why. It's an intuition/instinct thing.
Hey, just a heads up. I'm 90 percent sure I'll be moving Masto instances within the next day or two. I will keep this account up for a while so that people can do what is required to process this information, but it will eventually be going away to satisfy my ND self that complains about loose ends being everywhere. Thanks for all the migration tips, and thanks to this instance for being cool! I still like this one... just the character limit is too short! Didn't think I'd get to that point LOL.
Okay. So Seeing AI's descriptions are rather lackluster, but at least I was able to go through my photos and figure out what were duplicates and accidental snaps of arbitrary whatevers. Thanks for the tip, guys.
Do you ever boost a toot, then see someone else boost it, and think to yourself: there you go, little toot; travel far! Like your boost had some sort of role in its spreading, and you wish it well.
I find it very annoying that I can put captions on my photos, but Voiceover doesn't actually read me the caption as I'm scrolling through them. Unless it has been taken and modified in whatever ways by Aira so that I know what it is. I really wish I understood how Aira adds title information to photos that is readable by Voiceover. I just don't get it.
Prime day would be great if it actually had discounts for the two or three things I'd like to buy most right now. That didn't happen last year, so I'm not holding my breath on it happening this year either.
So guys, I have a bunch of photos on my iPhone. Most of them are safe to have somebody else look at them and tell me what they are, but I'd rather not have to rely on somebody else to do that for me. Is there an AI thing that can like... describe the photos I give to it? Voiceover's image description is showing itself to be crap at this.
