i went to a medical appointment the other day

the doctor asked if he could use AI during the appointment

i said 'no'

he said i was the only one who had refused

pro tip: if what you say to AI is shared with an insurance company, if what you said is not what you said because AI made stuff up, if what you said is revealed in a breach

guess what, your insurance company will use that against you forever and ever

just say no to AI

2️⃣ Here's the 2nd post highlighting key new features of the upcoming v258 release of systemd. #systemd258

On UNIX systems every user registered on a local user owns a private directory: the "home" directory, where the user's configuration and data is saved and stored. In systemd there's systemd-homed which can manage that home directory securely, encrypted with a key that is provided at login time.

In most cases having a single home directory for each user is enough.

It's that time again! The systemd v258 release is coming closer. Let's restart the "what's new" series of posts for this iteration! Hence:

1️⃣ Here's the 1st post highlighting key new features of the upcoming v258 release of systemd. #systemd258

As most of you probably know "systemctl start" is how you manually start a systemd unit. Starting a unit can fail, and systemd tracks that for you and tells you this. When you encounter such a failure the next thing you'd typically do…

…is check the logs for the unit, i.e. run "journalctl -u …" on the unit.

With v258 there's now a combined way to do this. If you add the -v switch to your "systemctl start" invocation, "verbose" mode will be invoked, which means the logs will displayed "live" covering the time span when the start operation is started until the start operation completed.

This has been a much requested feature – I figure some of you probably even looked for this feature personally already.

I saw this one posted on Threads abd sharing here for some laughs 😂. Within a few years, we will have jobs to fix all the technical debt created by vibe coders 😉 khhh

Google is so sneaky. This prompt inside Gmail gives you three options. The two most visible options (number 1 is 'Try it now' and number 2 is 'Continue') basically mean 'Enable Gemini AI to write emails.' The third option cancels it which is hidden well. Google, you could do better than this. This is a perfect example of a dark pattern. For those who want AI to write basic emails can enable it but there is not need to do this kind of "shady" stuff.

I saw a couple of posts about AI users who complained that another AI user stole their original idea, prompt, or art and are crying about not getting credits. They started watermarking the art, but guess what? AI can remove that, too. Forget AI users, even OpenAI, crying about Deepseek. The audacity of crying about copyright and stealing is wild.

I cannot give ETAs for the milestones because the time I have to work on the project is hard to estimate, but at least you can see how they progress.
