Not the case.
It does something incredibly valuable: it acknowledges people.
Which is incredibly powerful, and is all the more important *because* it's not connected to gaming any algorithm.
By liking something on Mastodon, you are doing it honestly -- without any agenda at play other than that you like it.

Augie Ray"Getting #COVID19 is inevitable" is a dumb argument. If you drive an average amount, it's inevitable you'll have an accident. (In fact, data tells us you'll have 2-4 in your lifetime.) Does that mean we drive recklessly and invite accidents? No, we take precautions!
By now, we all should know:
- Reinfections occur
- Reinfections raise health risks
- Immunity fades
- COVID can damage your brain, heart & immune system
We should be striving to reduce how often we all get (and spread) COVID!
