It gets more absurd every day for Big Journalism to keep pouring its work into Saudi-government-funded Twitter, which is controlled by a right-winger who hates real journalism and boosts extremists.

It gets even more absurd for journalism orgs to keep embedding tweets in their stories, given Musk's unfathomable destruction of the platform's usefulness.

I keep wondering when journalists will discover that big tech is not their daddy.

How a news organization can respond to Twitter, rather than continue to pour resources, free content and ad dollars into it after their reporter gets banned

If this is accurate, it's heartening. Advertisers are rationally avoiding Musk's site because it's increasingly toxic, reflecting the owner's vile behavior. https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2023-03-30/twitter-s-revenue-drops-amid-advertisers-concerns-over-elon-musk?utm_source=website&utm_medium=share&utm_campaign=mobile_web_share
God, how far Alan Dershowitz has fallen. He could start a pillow company at this point.
The first indictment and not the last.

Journalists, PLEASE put Trump indictment in its proper context:

It wasn't just a payoff to stop something sleazy from becoming public.

The reason they were so keen to keep it secret was to win a presidential election.

That is the issue: This was gross interference with a presidential election -- and it worked.

This seems like a really excellent day not to be on Twitter any more.

So, finally, Musk's minions have acknowledged why they locked out third-party Twitter clients: The purpose is to force users onto Twitter's own website and apps.

Remember, they lied earlier to justify killing off the competition, claiming violations of the rules. Since there were no violations they could point to, they rewrote the rules.

Anyone who trusts Musk and Twitter at this point is willfully stupid.

You can't use TikTok on the University of Texas Wi-Fi. Concealed guns on campus still allowed.

Yes, there are too many malignant narcissists and sociopaths in positions of power. But the bigger problem is the number of voters drawn to them and enablers cheering them on.
