I'm part of a group of profiles experimenting with posting content on Mastodon. I post music. Trying to specialize in lost or scarce media. They/them.
You can obtain the original Wine Red (along with the remix) only by purchasing it from the more expensive album. In the event I can contribute to keeping this song from becoming #LostMedia down the road, I am uploading it here. Adieu. #TheHushSound #PopPunk #IndiePop #Music
You may prefer one over the other. But the remix is decidedly NOT the version that was released on the "Like Vines" album. However, due to crossed wires on the internet, when you buy the *vanilla* "Like Vines" from iTunes, you will get a song labeled "Wine Red," but which is actually "Wine Red," the Tommie Sunshine remix.
Later that summer, the movie "Snakes on a Plane" was released featuring many pop punk acts, including labelmates of the Hush Sound from Fueled by Ramen. "Wine Red" was remixed as the "Tommie Sunshine Brooklyn Fire Retouch" mix, featuring heavy electronica beat and insistent remixed percussion. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I1kPqnjDALA&ab_channel=TheHushSound-Topic

In June of 2006, the American four-piece indie pop band The Hush Sound released "Like Vines," their second studio album. One of the popular songs from that album was "Wine Red," a song primarily driven by piano, guitar, and acoustic instruments like maraca shakers. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1r6MFfMEziE&ab_channel=FueledByRamen

"Oakvale," the theme that plays in the first town in the 2004 video game Fable. Composed by Russell Shaw, the song has heavy #DannyElfman influences with the famous composer directly working on the main theme. Given Elfman's involvement, there was a pretty hefty album release for the game's music in 2005, but that album's songs cannot be purchased on iTunes or found on YouTube Music. The album itself goes for about $45 for re-used copies, so it's scarce media. #music #VideoGames #Fable #Oakvale
