What are your favorite news sources that have accounts on here? Bonus points for non-US/UK sources - I can usually figure out Romance languages

Does anyone know of a good firm to recommend for human-done interview transcriptions in the US?

(I know about Rev but am hoping for something higher quality and less sweatshop-y)

The cover art of this book has such beautiful beading, I want to ask the artist about its tribal influences. (Flowers are more eastern Plains than is traditional to MN, where the author lives, but he is enrolled in a southeastern coastal nation.)
Maybe it will become clear when I actually start reading it!

For us targeted:

1. Go into your Public Profile Settings
2. Look for Reach section.
3. Uncheck box that allows for follow requests to be automatically approved.

Yes, this will create a queue to examine, but anyone suspended gets kicked off the queue. It can limit mass follows from harassers to some degree.

Another good box to uncheck is under "Privacy" regarding who sees your follower list.

We're working on back-end stuff to stop this, but in the meantime, this can help.

I really want bedtime coffee. Maybe I'll risk it all with some decaf.

“Of course, a great deal of our onslaught on Mother Nature is not really lack of intelligence but a lack of compassion for future generations and the health of the planet: sheer selfish greed for short-term benefits to increase the wealth and power of individuals, corporations and governments. The rest is due to thoughtlessness, lack of education, and poverty. In other words, there seems to be a disconnect between our clever brain and our compassionate heart. True wisdom requires both thinking with our head and understanding with our heart.”

It's interesting to me how often the responses to the hiring librarian surveys (both on the hirer and hiree side) immediately make me think "you sound like a nightmare to work with with all these unrealistic expectations"
people love to bitch about quote dunks on other microblogging websites but having a site culture that will snap your fucking head off if you get out of line does really cut down on the amount of condescending dudes you get in your mentions. they have no natural predators here and are like a fucking toxic algae bloom for the site culture

The troll most commonly known as Jimmy Truth is doing this harassment disguised as parody to Chris Duffley too. Note the account creation date, if in doubt.

Block & report.
