This is an unusually serious post for me, but I feel this is really important to share.

I want to give a public shout out to the life savers at the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline. A close friend reached out to me during an unexpected mental health crisis, and I felt completely unprepared to help. I never thought I would need to recommend the lifeline, but thankfully I remembered it and encouraged them to make the call. Through a 20 minute call, they received invaluable advice which enabled them to quickly take action and find safety.

If there's one thing I want you to take away, it's this: please remember mental health help is always available when you need it. If you ever think "I’ll never need that" regarding the lifeline, as I once did, you may find yourself needing it most when you least expect it, just as I did today. Please take a moment now to make a mental note about it.
