First fully playable race π It needs some optimization, but I'm really happy that Unity can handle so many dynamic objects, the damage system is very simplified so far and the AI ββis terrible, but it's fun to play, the gameplay is quite close to the FlatOut 2 :)
#gamedev #racing #screenshotsaturday #wipThe first track through the shopping mall is starting to take shape :) I have an idea for several different routes and unique objects to destroy/interact with, it's really cool, I still can't believe I'm making a real racing game :)
#gamedevI took a week off and while resting from the stressful work in the game industry , I feel so free that I have to post a memorable moment here when I threw myself fully into developing my racing game π I took the previous experiments and started again seriously, so for now all you can see is the first prototype of my car and placeholder city track π
#gamedev #wip #racing #carI wanted to show the first flagship car for my racing game soon, but it got complicated π I have a great model in Blender, but it's not quite accurate at the level of detail I want and I think it's really difficult to achieve this perfection with polygons. So I'm trying Plasticity and so far it looks great, the UI is very pleasing :)
#gamedev #3d #carAt a game event two years ago, I had a big dream of visiting the biggest conference, GDC, and seeing San Francisco, it was incredibly brave but I believed in it. Such a short time was enough to change everything - today I don't even work on that game (however, I may have a more promising one in my hands) and no desire to visit the USA, if only out of fear. However, it doesn't matter, I've gotten too comfortable during that time anyway, but I would still like to visit some European event later :)
I'm back after almost a year :D The reason is that I have to share great news. While I used to write posts out of frustration and negativity, today I can't wait to start sharing the new game, but I don't have a nice teaser art ready yet, so a few more days. But I'm going crazy, I want to brag about everything I've already implemented and my surroundings are cold, because they probably didn't fall for the racing genre at all :) π
A Discord server I'm in recently had some discussions about how much you may gain from a selling a game after cuts for store and taxes and it reminded me of how little I enjoy the commercial aspect of games. Scratch that - it showed me how little I enjoy capitalism.
They paid me my 10 years of savings, as a responsible 33 year old adult I invested them in precious metals. I hope I'm doing it right π€ (I haven't had a high-end PC in my life, I'm enjoying it π )
