i think fundraising for politicians on fedi is a bit gauche when there are so many people in the #MutualAid hashtag who really need help

political parties full of billionaires with massive corporate donors don't need your contributions and a quarter million dollars is still absolutely nothing to them

trust me, that $20 is gonna mean more in the hands of the family struggling to put food on the table than it is for the presidential campaign of who-the-fuck-ever

@RustyBertrand

The image doesn't portray how the USA backed and funded ultra conservative religious groups in Afghanistan when it was occupied by CCCP.

In fact, there's a *pattern* of the west, USA in particular, funding fascist or ultra religious groups to overthrow governments that don't cooperate economically with the interests of the US.

@Gargron Am well into middle age. I've been made fun of for clinging to physical media, but nobody can take away my records or DVD/Blu Rays.

#Cats exist in a quantum superposition of two states: "pet me" and "how dare you touch me you hairless ape". It is only by touching them that their wave function collapses to one of these states.

Gaiman: " If you really can't figure out which political party or which politician to vote for, just ask if they're on the side of libraries. Are they voting to fund their libraries? Are they voting to keep them free? Then vote for those guys. They're probably the good guys. And by the same token, the book burners, the book banners, they're probably the bad guys."

“I will always be on the side of the libraries”: A Conversation with Neil Gaiman

Neil Gaiman is a fierce supporter of libraries. The author of American Gods, Neverwhere, Good Omens, The Sandman, Coraline, and so many more has had a lifelong love affair with reading. And he credits librarians for fostering his curiosity about books and learning at a young age. Gaiman spoke with I Love Libraries recently about libraries, comic books, book banning in the U.S., movies, and more.

He'll just ban them.

@adhdjesse I have been working on kindnesses for my future self.

Anything, even small things. Grinding the coffee, prepping the coffee maker the night before so it's one less thing I have to scramble to do in the morning,etc.

I don't always remember to, but I'm getting better at it. When I remember that my past self did something kind for me in the now, I stop and pat myself on the back and give myself a warm, kind feeling.

I imagine this is what being NT is like on the regular.
