Joey, servant of Satan, was very proud of himself as he walked into the house carrying a mouse and dropped it on the floor in front of me.

Where he hadn't thought it through was that the mouse wasn't dead and promptly ran into the bedroom and hid under my bed where it has now taken up residence.

Thankyou cat.

Honestly, is there ever a bad time to post a pic of a blue-footed booby?

Yay, back at my home airport!

Who turned on the cooling, Melbourne?

Ok, a belated introduction! I'm a scholar of science and technology policy, working at the University of Manchester in the UK. I've worked on a range of issues in science, technology and innovation policy. I've also worked with/advise international, national and regional/local policy-makers. I've been an active commentator on science, technology and economic development policy at that bird app. I also offer commentary to journalists and write the odd opinion piece and blogpost. Hi!
