If you live in the US and have a Jersey Mike's nearby (and if you live in the US, you probably do,) tomorrow would be a great day to pick up a sandwich there.

Tomorrow, every store across the country will donate 100% of sales to the Special Olympics. Not just profit, but sales, every last dollar they bring in.

I don't have any particular affiliation with the company or the Special Olympics organization. I just love a good sandwich and I think this is a pretty awesome way to support a worthy cause.

"You can control what you think. You can control how you think. And therefore you can control who you are."

That's Chinese-American Olympic freestyle skier, model, millionaire and Stanford student Eileen Gu, and I've never heard about her, but she seems like a pretty interesting and smart person.

ICE Accidentally Sends Maduro Back to Venezuela

WASHINGTON — In a stunning instance of miscommunication between departments, ICE agents have deported Venezuelan dictator Nicolás Maduro back to Venezuela just hours after he was abducted by the DEA. “ICE is simply doing its job and keeping America safe,” said a defensive Kristi Noem when reached for comment. “I don’t know how the liberal media is trying to spin this, but Maduro is a bad hombre. He is a dangerous man, has known ties to drug cartels, and has absolutely no legal right to be in the United States. Adios, buster!” The move has been met with strong criticism from the rest of Trump’s cabinet, most vocally from RFK, who reportedly had high hopes that Maduro could “Hook it up with some Molly.”

There are two types of software devs in December end:
1. Those who respect the Code Freeze.
2. Those who spend Christmas Eve or rest of the holidays stuck in their childhood room, trying to SSH into a production server over their parents' ADSL while their better half stares stares at them with pure annoyance from the hallway.

Which one are you gonna be? 🤔

Mozilla right now.

Idea: a map app with the interface of a dating app. I want to see and quickly filter all coffee shops in my city. I open the app, I start swiping. There are hundreds of them. I won't get through all of them in one sitting, but I don't want to see the ones I've already swiped away.

Frankly, I could use that app for TV/movies too. No, Netflix, I *still* don't want to watch "White Chicks", please stop presenting it to me.

Six congressional Democrats released a video advising members of the U.S. military to “refuse illegal orders.” Trump posted this was sedition punishable by death.

This week, news reports have alleged that the U.S. military carried out a strike to kill two survivors of an initial missile strike on a boat in the Caribbean.

Fun fact: Firing on shipwrecked survivors is *specifically* called out as an illegal order that service members must refuse.

Another new Let's Encrypt-secured website, another case of getting 82 hacking attempts in the first 30 seconds after it came online for the first time ever.

Do. Not. Kid. Yourself. "Oh, I'll delete the config files once I get it working." "Eh, I'm just some nobody. Who's going to care?" Yeah, I'll tell you who: people who watch for new sites come online and then immediately slam them with hacking probes.

"I'll get to it soon" means you better do it within 3 seconds.
