This is a gold rush. The people who dig for gold wind up ruined, the people who sell shovels make bank.
Nvidia is selling the shovels, so of course they don’t care about the quality or usefulness of their products. They are making tons of money, that doesn’t mean there is anything worthwhile there, just like most gold rushes didn’t really lead to many folks striking gold or keeping it. Why can’t more journalists see that?

@empardalada @angelalluna @maximclatellot A aquest conjunt d'imatges físiques —pel·lícules, televisió, cartells publicitaris i, avui en dia, tot el que és digital— és el que Debord anomena espectacle.
Això té relació amb la cita de Feuerbach: en el cristianisme, Déu és la realitat, no pas el món dels mortals. El mateix passa amb les imatges: han esdevingut la realitat, no pas el que veiem al nostre entorn.
@empardalada @angelalluna @maximclatellot Podem fer-nos una pregunta: quantes imatges veia una persona del segle X a Catalunya al llarg de la seva vida? Les de la seva església i poc més.
I quantes imatges veiem nosaltres al llarg del dia? De fet, si us dic que penseu en un partit de futbol, segurament pensareu en una imatge que heu vist per televisió, no pas en un alguna cosa que hagueu vist a la realitat.

Les imatges de les que parla són les físiques: fotografies, documentals, tanques publicitàries, cinema… Al conjunt d’imatges l’anomena espectacle, i explica que és la característica principal de la nostra societat.
