It’s been a bit of a rough year, but on the plus side I’ve probably built my system administration skills in the last 6 months more than I have in the last few years. I’m hoping that’ll translate to a decent career despite the market conditions.
@geerlingguy I respect the hell out of that approach.
I might get hammered for this but I think there’s a theoretical situation in which generative AI is helpful to society, and folks in general. The problem is we’re so far away from having the correct conditions to implement it. As it stands every job lost is a huge pain point since basic quality of life is fully tied to employment stability, at least in the US.
