Guy who likes to travel the US, read books & take pictures. History BA, Stony Brook. Native Brooklynite (Bay Ridge) now in far northern NY State, land of cold & snow. Photos are mine, imperfect. "A better world is possible."
One of the entrances to the 95th Street station on the R line in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn. This is about 1990 and I don't know there's even any station access this way anymore. The liquor store is long gone along with its neon.
Is it #SquirrelSaturday? This thief was so persistent I had to open the window and knock the feeder before he'd leave.
Seen yesterday on NY Route 3, not far from Fort Drum and the 10th Mountain Division.
One more arctic weekend ahead before the polar vortex retreats at last. I, personally, have had enough winter for a while.
A few weeks ago it would've still been dark at this time. Days getting longer, sun getting brighter. Can spring be far behind?
Dusk at a cafe and gas station near St Paul, Nebraska. September 2018.
Perfection IMHO.
I hear all of this post.
Ah yes...#FensterFreitag...so here's a photo out another 3rd floor window of the Woodruff Building in Watertown NY. The big building on the right is the Woolworth Building (FW Woolworth was a local.) To the left is the Paddock Arcade, a mid-19th century indoor shopping mall, one of the very oldest in the US. Current temp is -4F...shopping indoors makes some sense.
