I'm not saying that AI is useless, I'm just saying that today it's not ready to replace a human for coding.
AI enthusiasts like to say that it makes coding faster. From my point of view, this is the wrong measure unless you're doing a PoC / prototype. Indeed, the only important measure is code quality. I've always regretted the imperfections I let slip in the PRs.
Finally, the AI always excels in its verbose response to remind me that I need to index my join table. Too bad, I would have liked the suggestion to add partial and unique indexes.
To be fair, by asking to optimize specifically this method AI does half the job. Then you have to ask again to do it with one less SQL join.
This method has been entirely generated by AI. If you care about performances, you still have a job 🙂

🎙️ Meet the first 16 speakers of EuRuKo 2025!

We’re thrilled to announce the first names in our lineup:
📣 12 talks and 4 workshops — all selected through our open CFP process.
Each proposal was reviewed by a diverse committee of community members, and the result is a program rich in technical depth, fresh ideas, and shared purpose.

This is a conference made by the community, for the community —and these speakers are at the heart of it.

And there is more, we may have a few joining the lineup.
