@hnapel https://ipv6.speedtest.net attempts to connect you to IPv6 compatible speed test servers (where available)

@alina 464xlat is so graceful on our guest network, nobody ever notices it’s a v6 only subnet
@nico its seasonal over here, winter means your car might not turn back on so I understand it.
@chikorita157 only thing I’m actually excited for
@GossiTheDog gov IT + bank IT is definitely the worst crossover event I can think of, shocked this doesn’t happen more often.

@bert_hubert This is especially obvious now that “confidential computing” is growing. That “Nitro” ecosystem makes a lot more sense when you start playing around with Nitro Enclaves, KMS, and overall pseudo-anonymized data to avoid real data leak concerns at large companies.

It is just much more robust than anything you can get in Europe, which is just sad considering the amount of scrutiny the government places on consumer privacy compared to the US.

@nico yes yes

@prmam Must vary by Region, we’ve never had to pay for it at any of our cable sites, it’s on by default on business equipment as far as I can tell. On Enterprise DIA circuits they delegate a /48 to us in ARIN without even asking.

Good luck getting support though, I’ve seen my fair share of routing shenanigans with them.

@tschaefer That’s not too far off from Comcast, and their entire footprint is IPv6 enabled. Probably people using their own equipment which usually has IPv6 disabled by default.

IPv4-only Starlink is noticeably slower, I’m surprised people are willing it put up with it.

@lamp criminal that they raised the price and you don’t even have mid split upload speeds
