Today, despite the heat, my mare and I had a great training, with nice long canter rounds. I still work on my contact in the saddle, but we’re moving forward with every session.
Looking forward to our next training on Monday.

Yes, we both had a nice, cooling “shower” after the session and some treats (carrots for my horse and a refreshing aperitivo for me) 😁

“Never say never”.
Even if I always admired and loved horses, that affection was buried deep within me, with little hope that one day I will be able to spend time with them, not to mention riding. But this year was special: first a weekend “in the saddle” in Italy at the beginning of this year and just a month ago I started to train regularly at the local stables, with progress so fast that it amazes both me and my instructor. Never say never. One day it may become real.

I wasn’t very active here for a while, being busy with managing my small business, but it’s time to dust off my account.

Just a couple of weeks ago I’ve spent a nice weekend in Veneto region in Italy and had a chance to return to horse riding. It was great to be in the saddle again, spend some time with my partner, visit old friends and meet the new ones.

It’s snowing outside and just a moment ago a snowman (or was it a delivery guy?) brought me a ticket for the #SimplyRed #concert in Berlin on 19th of October 2025.

It was great to take a first ride after waiting three months to collect all the parts for my new road bike. It’s just unfair that at a certain age it’s getting harder and harder to stay in shape.

No #AppleVisionPro for me. As I need to wear glasses with one very strong lens, I wasn’t even able to try out this device today at Apple Store in Berlin. After initial steps being taken by the Apple Store employee, the manager came in and told me that it’s not possible because of my glasses. He was truly sad about it, as he is wearing glasses and can’t use Vision Pro too.

Seriously speaking, #Presslift is a neat accessory for #vinyl lovers, who are falling asleep too often while listening to their favorite records. It also looks good. However, I noticed it’s very picky on which records it will work as intended. In some cases the thin string attached to the headshell can’t slide onto the spirally shaped surface of the Presslift (1/2)

The advantage of the good, old quiet records and good quality audio components: you can listen to music in the middle of the night without waking up your relatives or neighbors and still hear every single instrument.

@roomak That statement feels somewhat familiar to me and I'm happy for you! ;-)
Though I stopped riding again after a year or so -- my hay fever returned and wanted it so. But still it was a great experience and -- luckily -- my intense longing to be with horses was satisfied. It's absolutely okay for me to not do it anymore.

@roomak Since my fursona changed since then I might instead consider getting closer to wolves... or well... a dog perhaps ^
But not as long as my work keeps me busy half the day. I don't want the dog to be alone all that time. So it's a heart-warming idea for my retirement... :-)
