I guess I should do an #introduction so hello everyone. My name is Dan. I'm a statistician who does Bayesian stuff, computational stuff, Gaussian processes, multilevel models, and really anything else that catches my fancy.

I used to be an academic, which was great fun, but now I'm looking for a job in tech, which should also be great fun.

Will this be as gay and chaotic as my twitter? Who knows!

I'll be around the #stats, #rstats, #stan, and probably other places.

@wcareri oh wow i never knew there was a reason i disliked serif typefaces so much! and also why i like gradients so much. thanks for sharing

@baptnz i didn’t know about that

so if i wanted to use Astrojs to attach things like tailwind or whatever other front end framework to html docs I could use a custom writer?

all this nostalgia talk has got me thinking of my (and many others’) very first friend on social media: MySpace Tom

hope that dude is having fun taking photos of, probably the maldives or whatever

new idea: a my.space instance would be hilarious

@chelseaparlett @kierisi i need CW for daylight savings

/s

i can’t wait until it’s a relic of history

@nova @chrmi this was exactly my thought as well  i really love podman for pods but wanted another way to orchestrate other than something as heavy as k8s and aurae seems pretty incredible
@hunterowens i’ve been watching too many homelab videos on youtube
@hunterowens pretty soon you’re going to start rationalizing how you need k8s at home for all your homelab web services

@grrrck and use deno like this https://docs.astro.build/en/guides/integrations-guide/deno/

i just thought it would be really cool using quarto-cli to add frameworks to projects in a kind of agnostic way

i might tinker with this but don’t know how far i’ll get

@grrrck yeah i would love more hours as well! especially since i’ve been trying to get rid of sleep debt; even less hours

i’ve heard of svelte but haven’t looked into it yet. the demo i watched was showing how, regardless of runtime, package manager, or framework/component library, you can add things in as needed, which seemed really cool. you can add svelte, or tailwind, or react https://docs.astro.build/en/guides/integrations-guide/svelte/
