First attempt at focus stacking which is essential for #photogrammetry of tiny things. Not perfect as the right boot is not in focus. 6 frames manually focused with a Canon 5DS, raw development with
Rawtherapee, focus stacked with Affinity Photo 2. ISO 100, half second exposure, f4.5

This is hard. Manually focussing the frames I needed extra light and was switching on and off between shots. Such small increments between focus make it difficult to accurately get things right with my aging eyes!

Here's a nice little bit of my day job. It's the first reconstruction flown with my new medium sized drone, a Matrice 4E. Lots of learning in the exercise, though I was a little disappointed with the results and concluded that I probably let the drone fly a little fast for the dull conditions.

Here is a bit of lunchtime fun. My latest #photogrammetry mesh. And there's even a link if you want to explore it!

This is part of central Winchester, UK.

A little bit of day job eyecandy here. This #photogrammetry mesh was reconstructed from just under 3000 45 megapixel images.

When a mesh like this is finished my productvity drops dramatically because I spend hours exploring the model.

I'm excited, though there is a great deal that could be improved my first astrophotography attempt. Its still recognisable as the Orion nebula!
A winter sun day at the beach before we go back to work tomorrow!
It was coincidence that these two books arrived at the same time, but I am expecting them to make a good juxtaposition to each other. I have to confess I'm more excited by the Lanier, because of his maintaining that we have a choice as to how we let technology influence our lives. I look forward to be proven wrong in my assumption that the Susskind & Susskind is going to have a fatalistic tone.
