@incomparable I like that they keep finding ways to bring in people with long-term history with Starfleet (and ST fans). It contradicts the post-Burn status quo from DSC a bit, but so be it.

@atpfm As I listened to @siracusa ‘s astonishment at the Steam Machine, I remembered an anecdote from development of an early version of Windows. The Microsoft team reportedly had the mantra, “Windows isn’t done until Lotus doesn’t run”.
(For the younger crowd: Lotus 1-2-3 was a spreadsheet that was a big Excel competitor at the time.)
@lexfri FYI, with Settings → Display & Brightness → Display Zoom set on iPhone 15, the Six Appeal keyboard gets clipped. Enter and backspace are cut off, and P and Q are only reachable in landscape.
@daringfireball Listening to you talk about ordering from Amazon reminded me of an earlier story. How long did it take to work your way through all of that charcoal? Or do you still have some?
@jsnell I was thinking about this episode today. I was out of the country and ended up watching the first two episodes of The Last of Us together. A premium show on a premium network/streamer, with a high-quality official podcast. And the podcast has ads. It wasn’t as bad as your Netflix experience, but it was jarring. I have to wonder how the ad dollars balance against the clash with their brand.
