We spoke last year when you posted this and I responded that I always thought it was "bola" instead of "vola". I happen to be around some Cubans at the moment and one insists that it's "Bola" (with an uppercase "B"). I'm still not sure, as I've never seen it written, and the sound would be about the same either way.
