Swimming in a flooded quarry yesterday, 16° surface temperatures & lower around my belly, lower still by my toes. But to be at face level with crested grebe chicks just a few feet away is a most extraordinary privilege. Unfortunately a smudge on my camera spoiled the shot 😞
