He/him. Very gay, a bit asexual.

Happy, usually. Enjoy stargazing and camping when it's dark/warm enough.

The huge bureaucracy that exists in our system to make the poor feel bad about themselves would not be money and time wasted with UBI.
Is this the beginning of the end of HIV/AIDS? Lenacapavir “offers 100% protection” against contracting HIV and there are already 6 generic manufacturers lined up to produce the drug under royalty-free licensing agreements. https://newatlas.com/infectious-diseases/hiv-prevention-fda-lenacapavir/
The first 100% effective HIV prevention drug is approved and going global

An epidemic that's been sustained for 44 years might finally be quelled, with the milestone approval of the first HIV drug that offers 100% protection with its twice-yearly injections. @maxhorn @daringfireball Network, yes. But Amex are both a network *and* an issuer. For example, Apple Card is issued by Goldman Sachs in the USA. But that’s not a bank here in the U.K., or in many places globally, so no Apple Card for us unless/until Apple finds a U.K. partner bank. But Amex is already a global card issuer, so that could potentially accelerate the global rollout.
@daringfireball From a global perspective, there seems to be an advantage to Amex also being the issuer though? Apple Card still feels very much USA-only, because Apple also needs to find a bank to partner with in every country they want to release it to. Amex could possibly accelerate that by a lot.
@mikey And is pronounced “dodgy”.
@kottke And the additional sick aspect to this is that he’s *already* the richest man on the planet. There’s no one left to even overtake, this is all just incrementing some number that’s already too large to be practically meaningful. Absolutely insane levels of greed and megalomania, and we all suffer because of it. 🫤
@zero101 @kottke It’s the difference between *permitting* anything to be said (Mastodon), and *amplifying* speech that fits your particular agenda and biases (either via human curation or algorithmically).
@jaytorres @kottke @jkottke You get a cute li’l smiley face. 🙂
@anandamide Some of that tech does sound pretty cool though! Can we…uh…volunteer to have those magical nanoparticles running through our veins? Asking for a friend.
@billgoats @Goodwithcolour @zaty But is there a significant difference between “cheap” iron and “fancy” iron? It’s all just Fe in the periodic table, right, and would all be magnetic in the same way? 🤔
