My inner 11-year-old is delighted that I got the secret word, "naked", on guess #69.
There are many hidden secrets here. One is that this window looks out onto the wreckage of The Oriental, a Civil War-era supply ship that ran aground near Rodanthe, NC in 1861. #PolaroidI2 #Polaroid #InstantFilm

I didn't put up a Yule tree this year, but this yellow-rumped warbler made one for me in the backyard this morning.

But only for a little bit! He has other yards to grace, and other trees to top. #birding #BackyardBirds

Northern Mockingbird immediately outside the hotel lobby window: Hi?

Sometimes forgetting that there's film in the camera that should be hand-checked works out. The photography of yesterday today! #Polaroid

Part of this exhibit at MoMA (Sasha Stiles, "A Living Poem") made me think of 17776, so it's time for a reread.

If you missed it, go read -- it's one of my favorite pieces of multimedia narrative ever: https://www.sbnation.com/a/17776-football

(It's not really about football, I promise. Just keep scrolling and trust me.)

My hotel snack game usually can't be beat, but a tub of sungolds from my friends' garden wins out over all manner of fancy chocolates and cheese cubes. ๐Ÿงก (Thank you, friends!)

I recently shot my first roll of #35mm since the 90s (and first ever with not-a-point-and-shoot), and I'm pleasantly surprised by how many I'm happy with.

I'm going to need to do some reckoning with being completely uninterested in doing my own developing or scanning while also hating doing any sort of post-processing, but right now I'm just having fun with it and I'm already halfway through my next roll. #FilmPhotography #BelieveInFilm

These are better examples of what the camera can do, but not nearly as funny.

I recently got a used superzoom for #birding, and I've been taking a lot of photos in my backyard to get a feel for it. Yesterday I looked up on a neighbor's roof and frantically started shooting what I thought was some sort of hideous monster bird, like a turkey vulture with something very wrong with its face.

When i ran inside to look at the photos closely I realized, no, it was just a massive raven with a whole sandwich hanging from its beak.

I haven't been able to stop laughing all day.
