@evan thanks so much! I tried to replace the generic document symbol with a better card, but it still needs some tweaks. I also got no notification about your comment. And replies are out of order, which I'm trying to figure out if that's how it needs to work or if it can be improved. There's some work to do, but I appreciate the support!

Hey lovely fediverse friends, as many of you might know, I help run some fediverse instances and I am currently paying way way too much money out of my own pocket because mastodon and mastohost have an awful habit of caching way too much and not giving good user accessible tools to prune away unneeded cruft. I could really use some community help supporting the instances I am currently paying for. Already in the process of figuring out how to move to a new server this month...

@julian Ahh, thanks Julian! That makes sense. That’s pretty much the same guidance I got from Claude and ChatGPT too. If I go for Apple at some point, I won’t be able to just wrap the site and call it a day. I’d need to build out more native functionality, and I’m not going to pretend I fully understand that path yet haha.

@julian Also I didn't answer the question fully. I'm doing this in phases. I started with PWA as this is all still very early, and I am trying to prove people want to use the app. I don't have the full plan mapped out but know I would need to make changes for the Apple review if I go that route.

@julian PWA's aren't allowed in the fediverse or the app store? This is news to me but that isn't surprising. I asked Claude options for getting to the app store and it recommended PWA.
