My 2 cents? We should empower local artists and writers and story tellers and build tools to do that, rather than using technology built on stolen artists' work and exploited labor right from the continent.

Now that I'm a parent, I'm suddenly realizing what huge feminist issue student loans are.

My loans are around 130k, which means I'm HEAVILY incentivized to stay out of the workforce to keep them in deferment. I don't even know that I'd bring home an income working, between childcare costs and loan payments.

In principle this should be a both-genders problem, but of course it ends up amplifying the pressure on women to stay home.

No Megan Rapinoe slander will be tolerated. None, you hear me? Rapinoe was the first white football player to support Colin Kaepernick. Soccer is football.

I'm scared of France, Netherlands, and England. The US didn't get much worse. Everyone else has gotten a lot better.

The "I'm a Fox watcher that can't name 3 players in the US Women's Nation Team" to "I'm now an expert on women's soccer, and make more misogynistic comments about the USWNT than Alexi Lalas" pipeline is always in full effect.

I saw a headline which declared
“Box Office to the World:
The Pandemic
Is Officially Over”
and while I will admit
that I am not an epidemiologist
I am fairly certain
that it takes more
than lots of people
deciding to see a movie
for a pandemic to truly be over.

We are now three years into the shift from office working to hybrid/home-based and the only strategy commercial property developers have is paying for advertorials bleating about how everyone should work in offices rather than idk pivoting their model.

Capitalism is not a driver of innovation, or they'd have fucking innovated.

Say it with me as many times as it takes to make the lesson stick: Chatbots are not a suitable replacement for search engines.

A quote I saw today on another social that will now live rent-free in my head forever:

"No one wants to work" is just "no one wants to date nice guys", but for employers.

Huge congratulations to the workers who have successfully unionized.

"For too long we, the workers powering the AI revolution, were treated as different and less than moderators,” said Richard Mathenge, a former ChatGPT content moderator who worked on the outsourcing company Sama’s contract with OpenAI, which ended in 2022. "
