@OwenK my largest transit pet peeve when visiting a lot of US cities! NYC suffers badly from this too.

Offhand, MDW/ORD, ATL, and SFO are the first ones I can think of with halfway decent train connections. In many cases, it’s a byproduct of poorly made regulation around spending the Passenger Facility Fee.
