How can #Boston even pretend to be a real city when its MBTA trains don't run to the airport?

@OwenK my largest transit pet peeve when visiting a lot of US cities! NYC suffers badly from this too.

Offhand, MDW/ORD, ATL, and SFO are the first ones I can think of with halfway decent train connections. In many cases, it’s a byproduct of poorly made regulation around spending the Passenger Facility Fee. The reg was thankfully changed in 2021, but the momentum will take a long time to swing. https://www.vice.com/en/article/z3v5j3/us-airports-no-longer-have-to-build-their-own-crappy-trains

U.S. Airports No Longer Have to Build Their Own Terrible Trains

The byzantine bureaucratic rule that made useful airport connections to mass transit difficult is finally gone. Its legacy will live on in our crappy trains.
