I am R.C. Roberts, a 'Wise Hack'. A literary critic for Ferocia Animi. I profess no politics other than revolutionary change--for the worse.

It should matter very little to us whether some philosopher or some revolutionary or some theologian agrees or disagrees with us; we should be more concerned with actually knowing what we believe. Most grasps for great thinkers, and agree with them, all to avoid thinking.
In order to even begin to have a true understanding of life, one must begin from a position that accepts that not all problems have a solution; many are problems which are meant to be endured, rather than overcome.

Hey everyone!

Here's my newest article, which is a review of Inherit the Wind (1960), in conjunction with a podcast episode on the same movie with @dwaynemonroe and @ddclaxton

Hope you all enjoy:

Our personalities are sculpted by the moments that refused us our desires.
Remember: not everything is a learning experience. In fact, most things aren't. The idea all aspects of life have a lesson, a reason, a meaning is an inane one.
@21c_aesthetics makes me think of a quote from Lemony Snicket (I forget from which part of his series) where he wrote 'Anyone who thinks the pen is mightier than the sword has not been stabbed with both.'

"[if the blue collar worker of the] 48% who do vote were united with the 75% [of the blue collar workers] who don't vote, there would be a large, American Labor Party, something that every democratic country has, but we do not."

--Gore Vidal

"[What we have] is actually a one party system with two wings. The only difference between the two wings is that Democrats tend to be conservative and Republicans tend to be reactionary."
