@_benui Yup, what's worse is when you've found a piece of code Epic has written, but it's marked private or hidden somewhere you can't access. Then you have to decide between making some engine changes to expose them or just duplicate a whole bunch of code that bloats your work.
@Prodigle and also not being able to count legs and fingers…

@Keevahh Very good observations. I wonder if this is more to do with the size of the team, rather than being an indie or not, although of course there is an overlap. I suspect a smaller team would have a higher sense of ownership and awareness of scheduling.

For example, I regularly have to push back and negotiate with production before a feature is passed on to my team, as to not overload them with work. We're a small team and have limited resources, but we don't consider ourselves as indies.

@katagatame That looks awesome. Also, it'd be so funny if that's actually really tiny 😆
@akien I have to agree. I’ve been learning off and on for a while too, and I keep coming back to his stuff. He’s got a lot of content and a pretty good instructor.

@benui Woah. This sounds like what I've been trying to implement myself this week, so that I could detach and destroy widgets without losing data.

Will have to check if Viewmodels can live without the associated widgets though. Thanks for the tip!

@aras looks almost real, but that’s clearly a JPEG dog. Nice try.
@B4DC0FFEE Wow you worked on Mario Bros?? 😉 Joking aside, I’m sure it filled you with a quiet pride.
@deepnight wow, this looks rad. colour me intrigued, especially judging from your previous work.

@sinbad Oh neat, thanks! There's some overlap of what I was planning to look at, so this is going to be really useful.

You are right, even though the engines give you this wealth of tools and components, there's still that 20%-30% work that you just have to do yourself.
