I know a lot of us are going through stuff in one way or another right now. Money is tight or there are health problems or perhaps you just lost your job. I’m sorry if your situation is causing you undue stress and strain. The current state of the world isn’t helping either.
I’m just hear to say I feel for you. You are not alone, we’re pretty much all in the same awful boat together right now. I have faith things will get better for you and all of us, hopefully soon. Hang in there. 👍🖖
Daniel Steinberg ( @dimsumthinking ) plays slide-advance keyboard for the Breakpoints. Over the years, he’s performed in more James Dempsey and the Breakpoints shows than anyone else in the band—except for James!
Usually Daniel works his slide-advance magic in the shadows at the back of the room. At this year’s venue X-Bar, he was up front with the band. As seen in the photo, this was the flashiest slide-advance keyboard station in JDBP history!
As always, thank you Daniel!
The reflecting pool is a metaphor for everything that’s wrong in America today.
Arrogant people with power who don’t understand how anything works, making decisions that will predictably fail and we have to deal with the ugly aftermath.
WWDCNotes has been rebuilt from the ground up! 🎉 A completely new design – cleaner, more organized, and fully readable for LLMs, with a smarter, more filterable search.
See attached: old vs new design 👀

Left to its defaults, an AI coding agent is a shortcut machine. It wraps a failing call in try? and moves on. It says "tests pass" without running them. Every one is a small lie that compiles.
I didn't start with a rulebook. I started with corrections, and a correction you give twice is a rule you haven't written down yet.
Writing each one precisely enough for a machine taught me more about my own code than years of writing it had.
