A few photos from today's ride into the Tosa Village. The Menomonee River overflowed and this was a pretty bad scene a few days ago. It's looking better but there's a good amount of damage.

Planning to bike to work tomorrow but the part of the Oak Leaf Trail I normally ride on to avoid street traffic is probably underwater along the Menomonee River...

@daihard It's on a really dicey stretch of road I have never seen another cyclist on, but as we know, that doesn't mean it doesn't get used. :)

@lmorchard > But, it's not like the LLM uniquely generated a trip hazard?

Or.... did it!?!?!?

In my life, I've gone from not being able to search the internet, to being able to search the internet, to not being able to search the internet.

@alisynthesis I cannot totally confirm... but someone said that another person went in and "unplugged everything" when I was gone but when I went to check today things were plugged back in, and one cable was looped around and plugged into two ports of the USB hub.

I unplugged the loop, tried to plug in a device with the camera and a USB-C to USB-B adapter and it smelled burning. Tested the cable without the hub and cable did not work. Hub um, burned up?

We tossed it and put another in place.

@daihard Nice! I may need to drive over to the lane I ride home on near work and sweep it myself one of these days.

I guess we had a little bit of water come in through a loading dock door at work. It soaked a box full of Cat5 cable, not too bad. It's a good thing I moved a UPS off the floor where it was and onto a small rolling dolly a few months ago.

Also, USB-C is great because you can plug a cable into two different ports of a USB hub! Looks like it destroyed the cable and the hub. (Not sure who did it but people were trying to help while I was out.)

Anyway, all is up and running again!

@the5thColumnist Totally! I plan to get an ebike for my commute, which I could do on my acoustic bike but it would take twice as long and I would arrive twice as sweaty.
