Today was session 1 of my Tomb of Annihilation #dnd game with my usual group of players.
New aspects:
- No more phones or tablets at the table. We used to use various digital tools, but people were too distracted and not engaged (for multiple reasons)
- I pushed harder for defined characters with personalities and situations
- First time running a premade adventure which means I don't have to improv as much.
I think things are going at least slightly better!
I got a big poster-sized printout of the player's map of Chult for ToA and I'm covering it in scratch-off paint (acrylic + dish soap). The players will scratch off hexes as they explore. I'm super psyched about this prop for the campaign! #dnd
I'll post pics later when it's fully prepped & dried.
Started prepping a Tomb of Annihilation game. This looks like a cool campaign, and so much less stressful than putting together my own from scratch. And it still gives me loads of space to put my own custom inserts, since there's a big hex crawl.
