I'm here for the fountain pens. Otherwise my special interests are fiber arts (quilting, knitting, garment making, hand sewing), English orthography, biohacking (for lack of a better term), book binding, calligraphy, philosophy, horticulture.
@BritishKoalaTea It's totally happened to me. Maybe my worst offenders are my Pilot Kakunos.
@CoolerPseudonym LOL. I only have 1 TWSBI and it's okay. Didn't blow my hair back or anything, but I'm not going to throw it in the bin. It just wasn't such a compelling experience for me to want to buy another.

@penfount I don't require, but I greatly prefer waterproof/resistant inks. I like the idea of indelibility. All my new inks are either iron gall or pigment inks.

My favorites are Octopus Fluids Write & Draw Grey Frog, Platinum Citrus Black, Sailor Seiboku, Rohrer & Klingner Salix.

I hope it works. I had planned the same thing for when I get a Pilot 743 FA!

I'm always on the lookout for Sheaffer converters. I think they've been hard to get for at least the past couple years, but I have noticed better availability recently.

£8 seems pretty steep for a converter, but not for Sheaffer. The cheapest I've found is AliExpress.
Cult Pens have them for £6.99.

I'd love the old design ink bottles with the built in inkwells to come back. They did for a while, but they seemed to have changed the bottles again?

There's a surprising amount of new old stock available on eBay. The only downside with the No Nonsense is that their cartridges can leak if used too many times. Their converters work great, but are on the pricey side for converters even on Ali Express. I have heard of people eyedroppering the translucent ones though. 😬
@paradoxmo yeah I can't find a Bock 255 either. What a pain Conklin is to have their own proprietary housing. 😆
@paradoxmo Oops! Did they stop making the Bock 255?

@paradoxmo @toga

That's too bad about Bock Ti flex.
I've never bought a Conklin, but I have been tempted.

I've heard too many things about the Omniflex nib, but maybe it's a matter of type of feed.

If flex is still a pursuit with the Omniflex, Flexible Nib Factory sells Conklin housings with an ebonite feed for the Omniflex. Or they do have an Indian flex nib with a ebonite feed in a Bock housing. Bock housing supposedly fit in Conklin pens. 🤷

Conklin All American Courage Red Review

Today, I am reviewing the Conklin All American Limited Edition Courage Red pen. First of all, in my opinion Conklin get a lot of unnecessary bad press. While brands like Edison get wonderful reviews for their pens which often are around 170 bucks that come with a steel nib, and Conklin which also...

Pricier, but have you looked at the Bock Titanium Full Flex? I haven't tried one. The material looks darker than standard stainless steel nibs. But it's not a black nib. https://www.fpnibs.com/products/bock-250-titanium-full-flex

I'm assuming the Conklin has a Bock housing? I was told you can fit a JoWo nib into Bock housing, but Bock nibs don't fit into JoWo housings.
