We’re now in the find out stage of mandatory return to office.
Unispace found that nearly half (42%) of companies with return-to-office mandates witnessed a higher level of employee attrition than they had anticipated. And almost a third (29%) of companies enforcing office returns are struggling with recruitment. In other words, employers knew the mandates would cause some attrition, but they weren’t ready for the serious problems that would result.
Sometimes improvisations make the cut. Famously, this line is said to have been improv. It’s a great line, and everyone was open enough to catch it and put it in the edit. According to Russian Media, major changes to the leadership of the Russian Ministry of Defense including changes to the current Defense Minister, Sergei Shoigu and Army Chief of General Staff, Valery Gerasimov have reportedly been agreed upon in order to stop the march of the Wagner PMC group towards the capital of Moscow; these negotiations have also reportedly included the assured “security of the Wagner Group.” @liveukraine_media
So, look, okay, everyone's been gleefully talking about a Zuck/Musk cage match and it's not like my disdain for these people has been at all subtle, but - I am genuinely nauseated.
Both of them have the power to influence the course of human history on a global scale without any democratic legitimacy whatsoever, and so the idea that they're devoting their attention to this ... like, no kidding, it's not schadenfreude, I'm feeling, it's despair.
AP is reporting that the Wagner march on Moscow is halted and a deal has been struck.

The Kremlin spokesman says the head of the private Russian military company Wagner owner will move to Belarus as part of deal to defuse rebellion tensions and the criminal case against him will be closed. After the deal was reached, Yevgeny Prigozhin said he was ordering his troops to halt their march on Moscow and retreat to field camps in Ukraine. The deal appeared to defuse a dramatically escalating crisis.
