Though honestly I wonder if this is going to become a thing - if you rep a seller and succeed in forcing a buyer to complete an acquisition, you'll have to fight for your fee? Institutionally, it doesn't seem to create great incentives for the corporate bar.

The joke here is that Quinn Emanuel repped Elon Musk in his attempt to break his contract to purchase Twitter; they failed, Musk was forced to buy the company, and he's now trying to avoid paying Twitter's counsel, Wachtell.
