I'm gonna try to change my server in the next little bit, I think mastodon.online is one of the bigger ones and I'm gonna try to find a smaller one because a) I like smaller cozier spaces and b) I want to leave space in the room where they keep the mastodons for the next waves of twitter folks.

@susan_lanigan In my experience, when folks say "get therapy" they aren't expressing concern for you, they are instead putting you in their own personal category of "this person is nuts so I don't need to listen to them." It's their own little cut-off cue to withdraw their empathy (if they had any) and shut you down. Therapy is good and great and I wish it were available to everyone who wanted it, but it is *rare* that someone telling me I need it is doing so out of kindness.
