OMG.

We, have to talk about it.

Right?

I thought they'd draw it out longer.

@drlatigo yes, it was totally fan service wall to wall, especially season 3. But S3 was done quite a bit better I thought. And it wasn't just about reliving old stories, it was about the, ahem next-next generation. The way it ended with Seven finally getting her own ship, I think it could finally be a cast and crew that could have a show set in the future of main timeline and actually tell new stories.
@strange_new_words @GoodAaron yes, I think so, some mind connection with the ship or controlling the workers? Zero felt really guilty about being used for something.
@hecate oh, I thought you said placenta there for a minute...
@sargoth dammit

@drlatigo @yerald They aren't really cancelling DISCO are they? Prodigy I find disappointing, but not as surprising, although surely it doesn't cost much to make, why not keep going?

In terms of moving the story forward into the future, did you watch all of Picard S3?

@melunaka Yah, I think WW3 and the Eugenics wars was, or still is, one of the disconnects. Are they the same thing or not? But not, hopefully we won't have WW3, and Star Trek history quite strongly depends on it. So, everyone just needs to accept that it's a timeline that diverged from ours at some point in the past, maybe when that Captain went back to San Francisco in 80s in Voyager? Or maybe when the first original Star Trek show aired?

@melunaka Fair. I liked it, and I forget all the details but I think the eugenics war sliding is really them trying to fix an inconsistency between TOS or movies and later shows.

I've never heard of the romulans being part of it before, although they had some involvement in Enterprise (the show) where the whole Temporal Cold War is first shown.

It's a bit surprising they used it since I thought they were trying to distance themselves from the Temporal Cold War now. Although with La'An's family history, and hints from the second season of Picard, it does add this interesting layer of intrigue to the time before First Contact.

It's a no win scenario really, time is catching up with the story.

but @Morn, didn't you also say?
