@eringiglio There is - but it has caveats. The server admin can read all dms if they want to, and if you tag someone in a dm, it pulls them into the thread.

@MarkHanson A conference I attended a few years back did this as a social one night - I think it was ASHG. TONS of people attended, everyone seemed to be having a great time, and I know the D&D went laaaaaaate into the night.
we criticize hollywood for lazy tropes but our two main antagonists right now is a former kgb agent with a penchant for poisoning and an emerald mine heir who wants to live on mars. if these were bond villains they’d be dismissed as caricature
@[email protected] I’ve been seeing some people say the order in which you do it matters - if you put the link in your mastodon thing before you put the code in your site, go back and re-enter the link where it’s supposed to go in mastodon and it might work now. (I haven’t/can’t personally verified.)
