So this fact is how I remember how to correctly spell “arctic”. Why my brain can remember that arctos means bear and not that the word arctic has two c’s in it I do not know, but there we are.
And then you roll onwards in declension and subsequent civilizations mug you for your words and eventually here we are with the Arctic, where the bears are, and the Anti-arctic, where the bears are not.
