Trump’s national security team failed to fully account for the possibility of Iran closing the Strait of Hormuz. Is anyone surprised?
The most obvious retaliation in any US–Iran conflict.
A scenario US war planners have modeled for decades.
Trump’s tight inner circle sidelined broader debate about the economic risks if Iran shut the strait. Now tankers are stuck. Markets are rattled. Escorts are deemed too dangerous. The level of incompetence is staggering.https://www.cnn.com/2026/03/12/politics/hormuz-trump-administration-underestimated-iran #press #iran

The Pentagon and National Security Council significantly underestimated Iran’s willingness to close the Strait of Hormuz in response to US military strikes while planning the ongoing operation, according to multiple sources familiar with the matter.

Did AI kill 175 schoolchildren, aged 6 to 12, with a double-tap precision-guided missile strike?
No, AI didn't commit this war crime. Donald Trump did. Pete Hegseth did.
"The people in charge don’t seem to be pondering this, as it’s all a game to them. You can hear it in the despicable language of the lacquered and grotesque Hegseth and his middle-school braggadocio about ‘warfighting’ and ‘the warrior ethos.’”

No war, no ICE
Here's a thing I wrote to my senators: It's important to resist the unprovoked war with Iran, especially on the heels of the unprovoked incursion into Venezuela. Reckless and indiscriminate overthrow of governments is just a recipe for chaos. It's also important to resist funding ICE. I mention this in the same e-mail because I've seen rhetoric online trying to use our foreign wars as an excuse to fund domestic security.
