"Don't worry it all comes apart."
Yes, hospice man. We are.
@DaveMWilburn @Teri_Kanefield Disclaimer: IANAL
The appeal is quite far out from the scheduled trial date at this point. SCOTUS can rule that things like jury selection & discovery may continue but the trial may not start until an opinion is decided. Or, more likely, the DC Cir can rule that way & SCOTUS can respect local rules.
If that's the case, the impact to the case would be slight, & we would expect a rapid turn around from SCOTUS.
Trump just filed his opening brief in the immunity appeal in DC circuit court of appeal.
It's late but I just had to start reading (morbid curiosity)
Paragraph #1: He tells the court that if he can be indicted there will be no end to it. Presidents will be indicted for decades! It will be a parade of horribles!
(Assumption: This is a purely political.)
#2 is the doozy.
Basically, Dear Court: You have no power to sit in judgment of MEEEE.
It's laughably absurd.

@Teri_Kanefield "He tells the court that if he can be indicted there will be no end to it. Presidents will be indicted for decades! It will be a parade of horribles!"
I have long said that if a consequence of a system that holds presidents to account is that sometimes the most privileged of men are minorly inconvenienced with political indictments, so be it! I will lose no sleep over this.
@Teri_Kanefield "If the Supreme Court wanted to install Trump as dictator, they would have helped him out in the election fraud cases when he claimed he won." Maybe.
Or maybe they would have helped him out in some of the cases after. Or if they wanted to go full Calvinball (which I have been repeatedly assured 6 justices are eagerly awaiting), they could have ruled that Donnie was immediately reinstated in Acheson v Laufer.
The fact they've done none of that suggests you are right.
@Travis_View Your most recent QAA was terriffic as always! Sometimes I wish you'd include links to the images you discuss so I can see what cursed images George Magazine is posting.
I can visualize the Flynn image because it sounds like a reference to paintings of St Sebastian. There was a famous Muhammad Ali picture with the same reference. The look you describe as confused was probably intended to appear rapturous by Renaissance painters. https://www.artsy.net/article/artsy-editorial-photograph-made-martyr-muhammad-ali
I'm seeing a lot of videos on YouTube about the brand new #ammoniafuelcell they came up with & I am thoroughly confused. The claims are that it's a dramatic reduction in greenhouse gases.
Am I missing something? Did those "This will be the End of Haber-Bosch, Says Increasingly-Nervous Man for the 7th Time This Year" processes actually get placed into production? Because otherwise, ammonia produces ungodly amounts of carbon because it needs ungodly amounts of electricity.
