I can visualize the Flynn image because it sounds like a reference to paintings of St Sebastian. There was a famous Muhammad Ali picture with the same reference. I'm seeing a lot of videos on YouTube about the brand new #ammoniafuelcell they came up with & I am thoroughly confused. The claims are that it's a dramatic reduction in greenhouse gases.
Am I missing something? Did those "This will be the End of Haber-Bosch, Says Increasingly-Nervous Man for the 7th Time This Year" processes actually get placed into production? Because otherwise, ammonia produces ungodly amounts of carbon because it needs ungodly amounts of electricity.

What's fascinating to me is the extent to which Schreber doesn't seem to see the things he is writing in his own memoirs, how they contradict one another or the portrait of his life that emerges from what he's writing, often creating an image of Schreber the belligerent neighbor at the same time as he is writing as though he is Schreber the victim (both things can of course be true; Schreber is a victim of institutional mistreatment & illness while heaping abuse on patients, staff, & family)
which he explains to his wife, when she visits, must be miraculous because a piano's mallets are padded. All of which creates a different image: that of a man pounding atonally at the keys of a piano & bellowing at visitors, possibly kept in a wing away from the other patients so as not to disturb them.
