fandom butterfly looking for a place to land. she/they, 30+. i might post about #danmei, #destiny2, #thesims4, and other #videogames - but i make no promises

I've long resigned to "finger fu" in #CDramas where they twirl & wave their fingers about and things sparkle in the air (ie #BloodOfYouth). But #MysteriousLotusCaseBook has set a new bar for action scenes: Acrobatic, dance-like moves of old #wuxia shows, which I thought had long disappeared. I'm also quite impressed #ChengYi did most of the movements himself.
This is a 4.5/5 star show. Totally the best I've seen in a long time.

my habanero plants have produced like crazy, and i'm too lazy to make hot sauce. i'm also not one of those people who will just use a bunch at once - i'm the type to put one or two in a soup, or dice one up as a topping, etc. so what to do, what to do. i think i have close to fifty that are ripe
i refuse to get into pc gaming because i feel like it's a trap i can't afford, so i'm just sitting here anxious and annoyed that baldur's gate 3 doesn't release on ps5 for weeks
today in terrible takes that i'm not going to respond to: most fiction is fetish, including the handmaid's tale
Having a PhD in a topic that I can't get paid for sometimes makes me feel like it's worthless, but then something happens that makes me realize that actually, it's given me a lot of skill at just, like, knowing how to approach a complex or obscure question, even ones outside my area of expertise
I was browsing YT and was recommended a video from a random ballet academy for children, which was of two girls doing a mock exam in their leotards and tights - they looked about ten. The teacher had them give their full names as part of the exam. And I'm just wondering who thought that's a good idea. I seriously considered emailing the school to ask, but they had turned comments off, making me think they know the issue but just don't care
it's kind of interesting to see a fresh new burst of activity on an old post, seeing it break into a different circle on mastodon

anyone need anything

what is it with fans that have to view everything as a contest

they don't think conflicting pairings can coexist in fandom; they want you to choose theirs. when characters are in conflict in a story, they have to pick sides, and even if it's a really complicated situation they have to convince you their character was the more right. and so on

where does this trait come from and how can i block everyone who has it
