Middle school social studies teacher in Georgia for almost 30 years. #giftededucation #middleschool #gamifiedlearning #engagementengineer #edtech
@fields @CultureOverlord @pandion @jlori @edutooters I also noticed the repetitiveness, but that’ll get better over time as well as with its accuracy.
@fields @CultureOverlord @pandion @jlori @edutooters If teachers choose to use it, they’ll need to be careful as I’ve already seen some issues. For example, I asked it to write an example of a lesson plan using Georgia’s 7th grade standards. I didn’t specify what standard and it came back completely incorrect. Just because it spit something out doesn’t make it factually correct, so it’s up to teachers to verify everything.
@admin @redegelde I don’t know anything about coding, but I wanted ChatGPT to create code that would allow me to have a drop-down menu with links in my Canvas LMS. It created HTML and CSS code, but I don’t understand how to put the two together and it didn’t seem to be able to do a good job explaining that to me. Then one of my students showed me how to do it😂
@boris_steipe What a great idea! I haven't yet introduced it to my students, though I've shared it with some of my colleagues. Most are not very tech savvy and they see this in mostly negative terms. I see some positives & am collecting all kinds of ideas. Our kids are too young (middle school aged) to legally have an account with ChatGPT, but I wouldn't be surprised if they already know about it and use it. Might as well find some good in this technology because it won't be going anywhere soon.
I've been toying with #ChatGPT this week and I have to say...wow! I took some of my standards and asked it to create lesson plans, quiz questions, review games, reading passages, fill-in-the-blank questions, thinking maps, outlines, and so much more. What are your thoughts? If you've used it, tell me how. #EduTech #edutoot #education
@redegelde Thanks! I’ll check it out!
@SandyKendell to be honest, I’m not sure. Maybe if you have a lesson with a series of tasks, one for each tab? I will say it’s a lot easier to just do regular pages. But at least I’ve learned a little something about HTML!😄
@crash I didn’t either until this morning! Check out Canvas Queen on YouTube. If you have a canvas account, you can get all the codes in the Canvas Community.
Just spent the day trying to learn how to use HTML to create tabs in @CanvasLMS and I’m ready to pull my hair out. I have the basic code and did create the tabs and even added content. My question: is all the content on each tab supposed to be visible on the same page? I think I’m realizing that tabs≠separate pages. Ugh. #Canvas #Edutooters #teacher #k12
