Le cinéaste Mathias Meyer qui a fait le film *Louis Riel, Le ciel touche la terre*, est le fils de l’historien français Jean Meyer ayant écrit la biographie de Riel publiée chez Gallimard en juin 2024 dans un silence assourdissant au Canada, surtout au Québec.

Je suis bouleversée par ce film qui jette un nouvel éclairage sur la fin de vie de Riel et le fait que ce film soit le premier à son sujet. Ici, personne n’a fait de film ni de biographie sur Riel! C’est une honte!

C’est ce qu’on appelle un personnage fantôme qui nous hante tous, au fond.
