โœˆ๏ธ "That restaurant in Krakรณw you loved, what was it called again?"

I had no idea. That bothered me more than it should have.

So I built a travel memory system that thinks while I ski. Three layers + AI backfill + automation = never losing travel gold again.

I made a big decision recently. The kind my generation was warned against.

More on that another time.

But the process taught me something I keep coming back to: ๐™ฎ๐™ค๐™ช ๐™ฌ๐™ž๐™ก๐™ก ๐™ฃ๐™š๐™ซ๐™š๐™ง ๐™›๐™š๐™š๐™ก ๐™ง๐™š๐™–๐™™๐™ฎ. ๐˜ฝ๐™š๐™˜๐™–๐™ช๐™จ๐™š ๐™ง๐™š๐™–๐™™๐™ฎ ๐™ž๐™จ๐™ฃ'๐™ฉ ๐™– ๐™›๐™š๐™š๐™ก๐™ž๐™ฃ๐™œ โ€” ๐™ž๐™ฉ'๐™จ ๐™– ๐™™๐™š๐™˜๐™ž๐™จ๐™ž๐™ค๐™ฃ you make despite the fear.

Fear is a mile wide but paper thin. The problem? We keep waiting for it to disappear before we act.

It won't. So instead โ€” interrogate it.

When fear has you frozen, ask yourself these questions:

A couple of year ago, I was sitting at my desk, preparing for my second job change in short period of time.

And I found myself saying something out loud, to no one in particular:

"Thank you."

I was talking to myself โ€” from twelve months earlier. The version of me that had documented every interview question, every coaching insight, every hard lesson. Notes I'd completely forgotten writing. But there they were, exactly when I needed them.

That moment changed how I think about note-taking.

It's not about productivity. It's about compounding. Every note is a small investment in your future self.

But I didn't always think this way.

For years, my system was Evernote. It worked โ€” until it didn't.

The day it broke for me: I was standing in a coffee queue, trying to pull up a note I'd written that morning. My phone wouldn't sync. I'd hit the device limit. My own thinking, locked behind someone else's paywall.

That's when I realised: these weren't really my notes. They lived in Ever

I've just updated my "Now" page.

February delivered one of those rare weeks where everything happening around you, and inside you, points at the same idea. We flew to Poland and drove to Tylicz in the Beskid Sฤ…decki mountains for a family ski week: not for me (a knee operation kept me firmly on the bench with hot tea and a good book), but for the kids and their first proper lessons.
While they were grinding through five days on the slopes with the Pomarancza ski school, I was quietly testing my personal AI system in real-world conditions. Somewhere between watching my nine-year-old hold her balance for the first time and getting my morning skiing update from my digital assistant, I came across a framework for skill acquisition that made the whole week click.

Ready to shift from positional authority to presence-based authority? Try these:

In your next meeting, consciously move and speak more slowly than usual. Notice how it changes your energyโ€”and how others respond.

Tonight, set up one small thing that will make tomorrow easier. Coffee ready to brew. Clothes laid out. Inbox at zero. Build that relationship with your future self.

For one day, notice every time you abandon a gesture, trail off mid-sentence, or leave an action incomplete. Finish what you start.

In your next meeting, count how many questions you ask versus how many you answer. Aim for a higher ratio of asking.

In your least favourite regular meeting, find one genuine thing to appreciate. The warmth of your coffee. A colleagueโ€™s perspective. The fact that the meeting will eventually end. (Joking. Mostly.)

We think authority is positional. Itโ€™s something granted by org charts and job titles. When someone says โ€œI have authority here,โ€ theyโ€™re thinking in terms of hierarchy: Iโ€™m above this person, Iโ€™m over these people.

-> But hereโ€™s the thing: hierarchies and status have nothing to do with real authority.

Letโ€™s dive in ๐Ÿ‘‡๐Ÿป

We donโ€™t know how to argue.
People often fight to destroy, letting their egos drive them to win.

Learn how to fight.

Disagreements are inevitable; resentment is optional.

Fight clean: no shouting, no character attacks, no public shaming.

ยปResolve; donโ€™t destroy.

This applies to leadership, relationships and parenting.

Practise often.

January has already passed. If you want to turn your resolution into a healthy habit, make it one that supports your health.

I've just updated my "Now" page.

This month, I've been thinking a lot about the hidden architecture of thingsโ€”the systems, both visible and invisible, that shape how we experience the world. It started with a book that felt like a blueprint for the emotional toll of ADHD, continued with another that revealed how the web's biggest flaws became its foundational pillars, and it all culminated in the work I'm doing on my own digital garden, turning years of messy notes into a system that thinks. Itโ€™s a recurring lesson: understanding the system, whether itโ€™s in our brains or on our screens, is the first step toward changing our relationship with it.
