20 Years of Digital Life, Gone in an Instant, thanks to Apple

Summary: A major brick-and-mortar store sold an Apple Gift Card that Apple seemingly took offence to, and locked out my entire Apple ID, effectively bricking my devices and my iCloud Account, Apple …

The #Ubuntu Unity project is calling for developer support. A lack of available maintainers has led to critical bugs and no 25.10 release. They need help to fix the desktop and maintain the flavor for the 26.04 LTS.

UI that can be clearly seen and told apart from the content helps me as a user to "focus on the content" because I don't have to search for it and try and understand what is content and what is UI.

Stable consistent UI stays put and isn't constantly hiding and appearing and rearranging itself lets me develop muscle memory and a spacial sense of "where" everything is, so I can learn to get used to the app.
Instead of having to constantly relearn where everything is because it rearranges itself.

@heydon vibe coding is just the latest attempt to replace expensive, skilled, developers with something cheaper. It's been "codeless" development tools. Now it's AI writing code. But the problem these attempts to replace developers have always faced is exactly what you identify. They're assuming that the value of developers is the ability to write code. It's not, it's the ability to consider a problem space, and identify possible solutions. Code is just a formal description of those solutions.

Men with hair loss: let me save you all some trouble.

Rogaine and Propecia work a little, for a while. What works a lot better, and lasts forever, is confidence.

Don't try to hide it or reverse it. You can’t and won’t. Shave it or buzz it short, and just own it. Rock it!

Confidence in yourself is infinitely more attractive than any hairdo.

2.5 years of hormone therapy, an orchiectomy, cranioplasty, brow lift, and hairline advancement, 10 sessions of laser, 14 hours of electrolysis, brow waxing and shaping, a hair cut and color, a skin care routine, hundreds of hours of exercise, voice training, and a few thousands dollars in clothing later, I can wake up, not shave my face, not wear makeup, go to the grocery store and still be called “ma’am”. This is the trans agenda
Even if you're an Apple stan and think the company really has no motivation but a sincere desire to protect users, and government regulators are bad product designers and this will make things worse… even so, this is Apple's fault. The handwriting has been on the wall for years. They should've figured out a way to *self*-regulate by now. Because the *appearance* of impropriety clearly exists, and has now been called out on multiple continents. This is not one regulator with a bias.
