A father, gamer by hobby, former developer by trade, and now, a manager of developers using the English programming language.

For better or worse, Jira is my IDE. Developers are the platform in which my ideas run.

After going around the earth a few times, I've settled in Australia, where I aim to live a simple and quiet life, filled with the joys of family and the comforts of home.

@MAKS23 That's 2x the original Russian casualty rates compared to when the Russians threw prisoners into the meat grinder in the past year and took Bakhmut
@BigAngBlack She sounds like she needs a hug. But that has nothing to do with the fact that remote working is a different experience for everyone
If there was one piece of advice I could give to new Mastodon users who are finding their feeds quiet or boring, it is to follow as many people and hashtags as you can. This is not Twitter; there is no algorithm, it is not going to fill your feed with stuff it thinks you like. You have to curate it yourself. Once you do, though, it's so much more vibrant and rewarding than Twitter has been for a year. #TwitterMigration #Twitter

Total student loan debt that would have been erased for millions of Americans: $400 billion

Total cost of the Trump tax cuts that largely benefited the wealthy and corporations: $1.9 trillion

This is what I mean when I say the system is rigged.

@HeavenlyPossum You don't need to reach back 45,000 years to prove that universal health care is affordable. Ask nearly every other country in the OECD today how they do it.

The real question is whether there is enough political will and votes to do it in your country.

I believe Elon Musk’s superpower is that he is really good at convincing smart people to do work for him where he takes the majority of the credit and financial rewards.

The Twitter debacle is because he drank his own kool aid about being a tech genius and purchased it on impulse with no exit plan.

This is hilarious. It appears that Twitter is DDOSing itself.

The Twitter home feed's been down for most of this morning. Even though nothing loads, the Twitter website never stops trying and trying.

In the first video, notice the error message that I'm being rate limited. Then notice the jiggling scrollbar on the right.

The second video shows why it's jiggling. Twitter is firing off about 10 requests a second to itself to try and fetch content that never arrives because Elon's latest genius innovation is to block people from being able to read Twitter without logging in.

This likely created some hellish conditions that the engineers never envisioned and so we get this comedy of errors resulting in the most epic of self-owns, the self-DDOS.

Unbelievable. It's amateur hour.
